About Lone Star Beef

the mission:

To provide necessary protein to Christian based, non-profit residential organizations that feed the physical and spiritual hunger of those in need.

the goal:

For Lone Star Beef to be self-sufficient and have 400-500 head of cattle by the year 2020.

ways to partner with us:

  • Direct To Freezer Program

Animals are donated ready to be processed. We are currently helping supply meat to 200+ residents of organizations with our “Direct-To-Freezer Program.” Pastor Darla Weaver started this program years ago. Local businesses and church members purchase animals at our surrounding county fairs and donate said animals to our church. We have the animals processed and meat is distributed to organizations.

  • Sponsorship Program

We are partnering with our church members to make a $1,000 donation to purchase sport cattle to be used at arena events here at the church. The stock fees earned by cattle at our ropings (avg. 400 - 500+ runs per roping at $10/run) will then be used for expenses such as hay, feed, vaccines, etc. Once these cattle have matured, they will be processed for meat or put into the church’s Breeding Program.

  • Stewardship/Breeding Program

We have partnered with local ranchers to maintain our breeding herds. These ranchers will hay, feed, vaccinate, and etc., for a percentage of the calf crop. Our goal is for Lone Star Beef to be self-sufficient and have 400-500 head of cattle in the Breeding Program by the year 2020.

  • Wild Game Program

This is a newer program we have started where we will have hunters supply wild game and help train residents of these non-profit organizations on how to process the meat.
