lone star arena
TITLE: Church in the Dirt
Subtitle: Our ministry began because a cowboy loved Jesus. Pastor Randy Weaver spent 13 years in the professional rodeo world, and he made it a point to share the gospel and began hosting church services at every rodeo event he attended. Now, the church has it’s own rodeo arena, and we continue this legacy by producing rodeo events to in order to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Who is it for?
Lone Star Arena is a mission-based ministry that is passionate about reaching people for Christ that are drawn to the cowboy lifestyle. The Lone Star Arena Ministry is a thriving organism of people that enjoy and participate in the western culture.
How does it work?
People who come here to compete or volunteer are taught how Jesus lived by utilizing bible studies and serving in the Lone Star Arena and other community outreach events. By participating in any event here, you are surrounded by a group of people who ultimately want to know and glorify Jesus better in their daily lives. We incorporate prayer, scripture, and fellowship into every aspect of life and activity here at Lone Star Arena.
What if I’m not a “cowboy?”
Not every person who steps through the arena gate is an experienced cattleman, rancher, or rodeo athlete. While the participants of the arena competitions bring their knowledge and skills into the arena, many of the Ministry Team who volunteer their time have little to no experience. Pouring into people that come into the arena is our #1 priority, so we welcome newcomers of all experience levels and provide training to get you ready. Just ask many of the people who stepped into the arena with no experience…after a while they look like lifelong pros!
How can I get involved?
Short answer: Arena Bible Study! Dive into your Bible with a weekly bible study right here in the arena. From there, you will learn more about volunteer opportunities and can start learning the ropes of rodeo life. We want to get to know you and grow with you in spiritual knowledge and truth…while getting a little dirt on our boots at the same time.
