The following Statement of Faith is required for employment at Lone Star Cowboy Church.

We believe that it is an honor and privilege to be employed at Lone Star Cowboy Church (LSCC) and to have the opportunity to use our God-given gifts and talents to advance His kingdom. As a staff member of LSCC, we recognize that we are called to be representatives of the Lord and the church and we must continually lean into and depend upon the power and presence of the Holy Spirit to fulfill our part in accomplishing His purposes here, for without Him, we can do nothing. As I Peter 4:8-11 says,

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory and the power forever and ever.”

Therefore, I understand and agree to the following fundamental truths, calling and commitments as a member of the Lone Star Cowboy Church staff:

Our Fundamental Truths

As a staff member of Lone Star Cowboy Church, I believe…

  1. The Scriptures are inspired by God.

  2. There is One True God-revealed in three persons…Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  3. In the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. As God’s son, Jesus was born both human and divine.

  4. That man willingly fell to sin- ushering evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world.

  5. Every person can have restored fellowship with God through salvation.

  6. Ordinances of the church: (1) Water baptism by immersion after repenting of one’s sins and receiving Christ’s gift of salvation, and (2) Holy communion (the Lord’s Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation.

  7. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is a special experience following salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service.

  8. The initial physical evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues, as experienced on the Day of Pentecost.

  9. Sanctification is a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers draw closer to God and become more Christ-like.

  10. The Church has a mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin.

  11. A divinely called and scripturally ordained leadership ministry serves the Church.

  12. Divine healing.

  13. In The Blessed Hope (the Rapture).

  14. In the millennial reign of Christ.

  15. A final judgment.

  16. New Heavens and a New Earth.

As a staff member of Lone Star Cowboy Church, I recognize that…

  1. I represent Jesus, His kingdom and this church to people I find myself involved with daily; both those within and outside the church.

  2. I have been entrusted by the Lord to be an example in this church by expressing its vision, value and practices.

  3. I have a part in leading others in the imitation of Christ, recognizing that as a representative of the church, others will follow what I think, say and do. My calling is to model Christ through humility, the example of servanthood, and godly stewardship of my time, the church’s property and its resources.

As a Staff Member of the church I recognize and agree to exemplify through my words, actions and deeds the following:

  1. Foster a good reputation as a man or woman of character.

  2. Post only respectful and appropriate content through social media. Refrain from posting or sharing content including or referencing alcohol, smoking or drug use and any other conduct that may be viewed as inappropriate for a Christ-follower.

  3. Remain loyal to my fellow staff members, supervisors and pastoral leadership through my speech and actions. I will exhibit this by being kind, courteous, and punctual; expressing honor and appreciation; refraining from gossip; resolving to address any conflicts by following Matthew 18; willingly offering and receiving forgiveness; and recognizing and encouraging one another’s gifts and abilities.

  4. Support the priorities, ministries and organizational structure in the church, working through proper pastoral and supervisory relationships when I desire to speak about matters of concern.

  5. Cultivate a lifestyle of evangelism and service, ready to give witness of His life in me in every endeavor of life.

  6. If necessary, submit internally irresolvable employment disputes to leadership.

Additionally, as a member of the LSCC Staff I agree to exemplify through my words, actions and deeds the commitments listed above, as well as the following:

  1. Demonstrate moral purity, relational wholeness, and the fruits of the Spirit and the fostering of a good reputation as a man or woman of character.

  2. Maintain and grow in my personal life with Jesus, focusing on the importance of the regular disciplines of Bible reading, worship and prayer.

As a staff/pastoral member of this church, I agree with and purpose to live out the calling and commitments of this agreement as conditions of employment.
